About
I developed natural products after graduating with a B.S. in biochemistry. I consulted enterprise and commercial clients as an Application Developer for a low code software company. I grew my skills in communication, interpretation of business needs, and translation into technology solutions. I learned User Experience Design, User Interface Design, and Web Design through work experiences and a certification program.
Experiences
I acquired a diverse skillset in multiple industries and product sectors. Within the natural products sector, I contributed to the quality and regulatory, customer service, manufacturing, research and development, and marketing and sales initiatives. My primary product specialty was in skincare and essential oils although I also have vast experience in food, sports nutrition, and dietary supplement products.
Within the digital landscape, I started as a full-stack application developer. I gained experience in basic coding while leveraging low-code software to build enterprise solutions. I eventually became a UI/UX Designer creating visual mockups, iconography, and UX deliverables such as user stories, flows, and personas.
Goals
My dream is to work as a Product Designer alongside a collaborative team of designers. I am passionate about Visual Design, Product Design, Virtual Reality Design, and Augmented Reality Design.
Problem solving to engage + delight
As a UX Designer, I communicated user-centric technology ideas to developers and clients through wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. I visualized key research insights through User Stories, User Flow Diagrams, and User Personas to highlight business pain points for potential solutions. I am passionate about creating meaningful solutions to add simplicity and ease.

I create effective solutions rooted in empathy to problem solve in an iterative manner. I observe the people I design for to understand their perspectives and empathize with their needs. I define the problem to effectively deliver a solution designed for their specific use case, using divergent and convergent thinking to explore as many ideas as possible. I prototype solutions from low to hi-fidelity to test concepts through iterations prior to implementation. Usability testing provides feedback that will help refine the design to achieve the best-fit solution.

As a product developer, I leveraged the scientific method to guide my research strategy when designing products. I applied market research and consumer research to guide my formula design and ingredient selection to stay on top of upcoming trends. Secondary research through peer-reviewed journal articles provided insights into ingredient properties for production scale-up. As a designer, first-hand accounts from user research and secondary insights from competitors and literature guide my design process to effectively deliver meaningful solutions.

It comes naturally for me to stay in tune with the needs of others around me. For instance, I see the need to completely explore the target user demographics to ensure that prevent groups from not being included within the design process. I make a personal habit of exploring every potential user and rethinking users from my own personal biases to cater my solutions to be inclusive of all.

In the past, I created natural products such as facial cleansing oil, effervescent tablets, and holiday liquid stevia. I understand manufacturing, quality, and development processes and can provide insight from my background to strengthen my experiences in digital solutions. As a full-stack developer, I gained insight into digital infrastructure. I can apply my technical insights to my designs and effectively communicate design ideas to individuals of diverse technical savviness.
